Jost Van Dyke
Jost Van Dyke is just north of north of Tortola and is one of the most densely packed with sights and adventures. The main harbours are Great Harbour and White Bay And at each you'll enjoy some of the bars like Foxy’s and Soggy Dollar. Nature lovers will enjoy the scenic hike up to the top of Great Harbor where you can see all of the British Virgin Islands.
Soggy Dollar Bar
The Soggy Dollar Bar is one of the most infamous yachtie bars in the world to visit on a sailing vacation. It is called the Soggy Dollar bar because you have to swim to the bar and your dollars end up getting “soggy.” The Soggy Dollar is a daytime spot, so it makes an ideal place for lunch and afternoon cocktails. Make sure to try the “painkiller” drink because it was actually created at this bar.
Foxy’s
One of the best “nightlife” spots in the British Virgin Islands is Foxy’s. The bar has been around for nearly 50 years and it is not uncommon to see a celebrity or two while catching a drink. Foxy’s makes a great dinner location and after dinner it becomes a place where you can dance the night away! If you are heading to the British Virgin Islands for New Year’s Eve, this is the spot to be! But make sure to be early, because all the harbour space will be taken by the afternoon.
Bubbly Pool
The bubbly pool is a hidden treasure in the British Virgin Islands. After you anchor or moor your boat, you will take a short hike up a path until you find a pool that looks like a hidden hot tub. Make sure to check the wave conditions on the north shore before you head to the bubbly pool. The most ideal conditions if there is just enough waves and not to calm. But even if it's calm, it is still a sight worth seeing. This is a good location to see some local wild life in the water. Just be careful as you walk around the area as you can very easily lose your footing.
Sandy Spit
Sandy Spit is a location you may sail right by if you didn’t know it was there. It may not look like much, but it is a stop you should include in your sailing vacation in the British Virgin Islands. Sandy Spit is a small island with sand and not much cover, but can make a great picnic spot or a great morning spot for a swim and sunbathing.
